ETW is especially well suited to users who occasionally need to scan and integrate documents into their existing business software applications For example:
  • Financial controlling and invoicing
for attaching receipts, delivery notes and invoices to accounting records
  • Human resources
for adding résumés to electronic personnel records
  • Marketing and sales
for integrating contracts into a CRM system
  • ETW is user-friendly
  • ETW reduces paper wasting and is a further step towards the paper-free office
  • ETW incorporates scanned documents into data records instantaneously
  • ETW greatly speeds up your work
  • With ETW high gains are achieved at low running costs
  • ETW effectively integrates business data and documents because the target application is controlled via the Canon imageRUNNER
  • Central scanning of ETW is not tied to any one workstation
  • Your IT-department members will be pleased because the central controlling and user-friendly controls mean less work for them

The ETW client is located on the imageRUNNER and controls the scanning process. It communicates with the ETW server to control the distribution of documents to the relevant target applications. The user selects the scanner settings as well as formats and can simply and quickly save scanned documents to the data records of target applications, e.g. an invoicing program, as required.

The ETW server is located on a network PC and is the link between the ETW client on the imageRUNNER and the connected target application. Using connectors, the data records of applications, e.g. SAP FI, are made available for viewing and selecting via the ETW client. At the same time, scanned documents can also be attached to data records and saved to the target application.

The ETW connectors control the integration of target applications. Furthermore, they act as an interface between ETW and your target system to guarantee a continuous document workflow.
